Introduction:

Department came into existence in academic session 2001-2002 for B.Sc. Computer Science Degree. The Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University changed B.C.S. degree to B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Application) from Academic session 2006-07. The University has accepted the recommendation that degree of B.C.A & degree of B.C.S both will be equivalent for the purpose of admission to Post Graduate courses. The subject combination of B.C.A course is as under. - Computer, Electronics, Statistics, Mathematics, and Communication Skill are offered to the students. We all have realized that computer literacy is being equated with the basic literacy of human being. In the process of globalization this courses has enormous job opportunity, practical knowledge, hence students have fascinated to a considerable extent.

Aim:

The main aim of the Computer Science Department is to prepare students for graduate training in some specialized area of computer science. Educate students to be successful, ethical, and effective problem-solvers using computers and life-long learners who will contribute positively to our Region and Nation.

Objectives:

  • Educate students for strengthen knowledge of computer science & IT areas in order to improve excellence.
  • To teach students about principles of computer science and scientific investigation to solve real-world problems proper to the discipline.
  • Educate students about lifelong learning skills, which will allow them to successfully adapt to evolving technologies throughout their professional careers.
  • To prepare students for employment and advanced studies, andprovide support courses for students in the area of Computer Science and IT.
  • To teach students effective teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to work effectively in their professional careers and socially.
